Merab Dvalishvili vs Petr Yan

Merab is a cardio machine, but this will already be his fourth fight this year. Even with his freakish genetics, this level of weight cutting at nearly 35 years old will absolutely take a toll, especially in a lower weight class.
In their first fight he managed to wear Yan down, but he couldn’t hold him on the ground even once, and that likely won’t change here.
Yan will probably invest heavily in body shots, and as usual, he’ll open the fight with a more measured, passive tactical approach.
This should be a very close matchup, but overall Yan edges this rematch.
Brandon Moreno vs Tatsuro Taira
Pick: Moreno to win (2.00)
Moreno is the definition of a modern MMA fighter: good everywhere, elite nowhere, but extremely balanced.
Taira’s wrestling is excellent, but he’s still very young, and his striking has a lot of holes.
This will be a great learning experience for him, but he doesn’t yet have the tools to beat someone like Moreno—especially in a 3×5 minute fight, where Moreno’s work rate becomes an even bigger factor.
That’s why we expect Moreno to take this one.
Henry Cejudo vs Payton Talbott
Pick: Cejudo to win (3.20)
This is Cejudo’s final fight, and he’s been matched with a tough, talented rising prospect. On paper, Talbott is the clear favourite.
However, we still expect Cejudo to get the win.
Against Raoni Barcelos, Talbott showed shockingly poor takedown defense, then looked much improved against Lima — but the truth lies somewhere in between. He has developed, but not to the level needed to beat an Olympic champion wrestler.
Cejudo’s stance will also cause problems for Talbott. Talbott thrives against traditional MMA-stance strikers, where he can use his timing, but here his attention will be divided, which will negatively affect his striking. He’ll look slower and less accurate.
Because of that, we likely see a less exciting but dominant Cejudo performance, controlling Talbott on the ground for most of the fight.
